DFD Health Policy for In-Person Classes
At DFD your health & safety are our top priority. While we are committed to creating a safe & welcoming environment, attending in-person classes may still increase your exposure to illness, including COVID-19, the flu & other contagious conditions. Our protocols are in place to help minimize these risks, but we ask for your cooperation in keeping our community healthy.
To protect everyone in our DFD community, we require everyone (including students, volunteers, faculty, instructors, parents/guardians & family members) to follow the health guidelines below. These measures reflect the CDC’s most current recommendations for preventing the spread of contagious diseases.
If You Are Sick or Have Been Exposed:
Do not attend class if you are exhibiting any symptoms of illness, including but not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of taste or smell or fatigue.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or any other contagious illness, please remain home until you have met the following criteria:
You are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Any other symptoms have improved.
Please notify DFD immediately if you have attended an in-person class & subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 or other contagious illnesses. This helps us take appropriate precautions with other participants.
Personal Protection:
Masks are optional but highly encouraged. While we understand that the decision to wear a mask is a personal one, we strongly recommend it, especially given the close proximity in which participants work & the physical exertion involved in classes.
Masks may be required for anyone returning to class after isolation or quarantine, as a precautionary measure for the safety of all participants.
Water bottles must be clearly labeled with the participant's name to avoid confusion & reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
Attendance & Class Structure:
We will try our best to keep all in-person classes in-person for the full session. If an in-person class must transition to Zoom for whatever reason, all tuition rates will remain the same.
Participation & Compliance:
If you are unable to adhere to these health & safety guidelines, we ask that you refrain from registering for in-person classes. We offer an online program that may better fit your needs.
As we learn more & guidance shifts , this is all subject to change. Thank you for your support in helping to make DFD a safe environment for all.
Parent/Guardian Waiting Area
As always, we will continue to require 1 parent or guardian to remain on the studio property for the duration of each class. The waiting area will differ from studio to studio.
Some waiting areas will be outside or in the parking lot
Every parent/guardian must be easily visible and accessible
For a student needing a lot of support, we may request that the parent/guardian remain in studio or even volunteer with their student inside the studio if needed
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy so we can plan to continue to offer in-person programming. Thank you.
